Framework
Community OS
Community OS is the framework we use to design and build intelligent communities. It describes the eight things a community must handle well, and the question each one answers. Each layer feeds the next, and the last feeds back into the first, so the community improves as it is used.
Community OS is a design framework, not a single software product. We build it using proven platforms, integrations and AI, chosen to fit each community.
The eight layers
A complete operating system for intelligent communities
Community OS has eight connected layers. Each layer answers a key question, and together they help youe community know its members, create value and keep getting smarter.

Identity
Who are the members? Rich, current profiles of roles, skills, interests and goals.

Relationships
Who knows whom? A picture of trust, collaboration and the introductions waiting to happen.

Knowledge
What does the community know? Conversations, documents and experience made searchable and reusable.

Activity
What are members doing? Participation, events, contributions and exchanges, understood in context.

Intelligence
What can we learn? Patterns, needs and opportunities drawn from that activity.

Action
What should happen next? Recommendations and workflows that move members from insight to action.

Transaction
What value can be exchanged? Memberships, services, commerce and collaboration, settled inside the community.

Evolution
How does the community become smarter? Every cycle feeds back into identity and relationships.
Why an operating system, not just an app
Single tools are not enough
Most community tools cover one or two of these layers: a directory, a chat space or an events calendar. When the layers are not connected, knowledge disappears into message threads, profiles go out of date and nobody can see the value being created.
Designing all eight together is what turns a group into a system that can learn.
How we use it with clients
From Insights to Impact
We used Community OS in a clear, practical way.
Assesment
We score your community against each layer to find where value is being lost.
Design
We decide which layers matter most for your members and your goals.
Delivery
We configure each layer on the right platform and connect it to your existing systems.
